Marrying in church is personal, meaningful and spiritual - just as you would want it to be. Churches are special and unique places to get married in - the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

St Anne’s provides a beautifully intimate and magical venue for your wedding. The church comfortably seats up to 100 people.

You can get married at any time of the day and on most days of the week.

If you want to get married at St Anne’s, then you

  • Either need to live in the parish (check on this website if you do or not:
  • Or must attend St Anne’s for at least 6 months before you can get married here, if you live in another parish.
  • Or need to have a connection to the parish (either have been baptized here, or have a parent or grandparent who belonged here).

The standard fee for a wedding at the moment is £474. This is set by the Church of England nationally and is the same for every church. This basic legal fee includes the cost of the Vicar, the Church, calling your banns, a banns certificate, the marriage certificate, lighting and all administration.

There is an extra fee if you wish to have our organist play the piano/organ, and if you want to have your wedding professionally filmed.

If you are a British citizen and live within the parish, then you can be married after the calling of Banns. If you live in another parish, then you are married by a Common Licence. If you are a citizen of the EU or another non-EU country then you need to apply directly to Hackney Town Hall Register Office for a Superintendent’s Licence, before your wedding can be arranged.

Please talk to the Vicar if you have any questions.
